In the heart of Brooklyn, where creativity and culture merge, Nundiah Danielle Edwards has carved out spaces that redefine empowerment, community, and purpose. As the founder of Atrium82™, an intimate gathering venue, and The New Body Project™, Brooklyn’s first all-women’s boot camp, Nundiah exemplifies what it means to build a legacy rooted in resilience and vision.

A Journey of Freedom and Authenticity

For Nundiah, being a Black woman entrepreneur means more than just running a business—it’s about claiming freedom of choice and expression and showing up authentically in every space she occupies.

“I’m proud to say my journey is authentic and significant,” she shares. “To create spaces like Atrium82™ and The New Body Project™ in a community like Park Slope is a testament to what’s possible when vision meets hard work.”

Her work holds even greater weight in a neighborhood where Black business ownership is underrepresented. For Nundiah, owning a piece of this historic and evolving community demonstrates that she and others like her can create lasting impact and pull up a seat at the table.

Empowering Women in Fitness

As the driving force behind The New Body Project™, Nundiah has shattered norms in the traditionally co-ed fitness industry. This boot camp allows women to feel seen, safe and heard.

“The New Body Project™ wasn’t initially my idea,” she laughs. “It was something the community asked for. I made it better.”

For many women, entering a co-ed gym can feel intimidating or unsafe. Nundiah tackled this challenge by curating a space exclusively for women to focus on their health and wellness without judgment.

“Every class is designed with our attendees in mind,” she explains. “Whether it’s adjusting for someone with knee issues or helping a new mom navigate postpartum fitness, we create a personal experience in a group setting. Women may leave feeling stronger both physically and mentally.”

The rewarding moments may include small victories, such as members gaining the strength to lift items independently or feeling confident navigating subway stairs. These milestones represent transformations far beyond the scale.

A Vision Beyond Fitness

In addition to her work in fitness, Nundiah transformed her fitness studio into Atrium82™, a boutique venue for micro-weddings, elopements, and intimate gatherings. The shift came during the pandemic when she had to pivot her business to sustain her family.

“I didn’t anticipate Atrium82™ becoming a premier destination for micro-weddings,” she admits. “But now, people come from all over—even France—to celebrate their special moments here.”

Nundiah ensures each client feels like family, warmly greeting them and guiding them through every detail of their event. “Whether it’s a wedding or a birthday party, I want my clients to feel at home. It’s all about delivering joy, authenticity, and integrity.”

Philanthropy with Purpose

Nundiah’s work extends beyond Brooklyn. As the child of Liberian immigrants, giving back is a cornerstone of her mission. Through her partnership with the Ghana Desk Project, she supports education and local economies in Ghana by donating a portion of every membership and event booking to provide desks for school children.

“We’re not just donating desks,” she says. “We aim to create jobs for local carpenters and artisans in the villages. It’s a small but meaningful effort that could positively impact lives.”

Five Pillars of Success

Her five guiding principles: accountability, community, integrity, commitment, and transformation—are at the core of everything Nundiah does.

  • Accountability: “Being accountable to others and having others accountable to you drives results.”
  • Community: “My community is my backbone. They’ve helped me become the entrepreneur I am today.”
  • Integrity: “My word is my bond. When I say I’ll do something, I follow through.”
  • Commitment: “Whether it’s fitness or event planning, commitment is key to maintaining consistency.”
  • Transformation: “My spaces transform lives, from morning fitness sessions to evening wedding vows.”
