Memphis community members, business leaders, golfers, alumni, supporters, and friends of higher education are invited to come together for a great cause as Mayor-Elect Mickell Lowery prepares to host his 6th Annual Golf Tournament benefiting LeMoyne-Owen College. The annual event will take place on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Quail Ridge Golf Course, 4055 Altruria Road, Bartlett, Tennessee.

The tournament represents more than a day on the golf course. It is an opportunity for the Memphis community to come together in support of LeMoyne-Owen College, one of the city’s historic institutions of higher education and an important part of Memphis’ educational and cultural legacy.

Golfers are encouraged to mark their calendars now, with golf check-in beginning at 8:00 a.m. and a shotgun start scheduled for 9:00 a.m. The tournament provides participants with an opportunity to enjoy friendly competition, build relationships, network with other supporters, and contribute to a cause focused on educational opportunity.

For Mayor-Elect Mickell Lowery, the tournament continues a tradition of bringing people together around a meaningful community mission. Now in its sixth year, the event has become an opportunity for individuals, businesses, organizations, and community supporters to demonstrate their commitment to investing in education and the future of Memphis.

The decision to benefit LeMoyne-Owen College gives the tournament an especially important purpose. Historically Black colleges and universities have played a significant role in preparing generations of students for professional careers, leadership, entrepreneurship, civic engagement, and community service. Supporting institutions such as LeMoyne-Owen College means supporting students who are working to build their futures while contributing to the broader Memphis community.

The tournament also offers businesses and organizations the opportunity to participate as sponsors. Corporate and community sponsorships give companies a way to demonstrate their commitment to education while connecting with other business and civic leaders throughout the Memphis area.

Individuals who may not be able to participate as golfers can still contribute to the cause. The event is open to those who want to donate or become a sponsor, allowing supporters to participate regardless of whether they take part in the tournament itself.

The combination of golf, networking, philanthropy, and community engagement makes the event an ideal gathering for Memphis’ business and civic community. Golf tournaments have long provided opportunities for relationships to develop outside the traditional office environment, and this event adds an important charitable component.

Participants can expect a morning centered around golf while knowing that their involvement contributes to a larger mission. Whether arriving as an individual golfer, part of a team, a sponsor, or a donor, every participant becomes part of an effort to support LeMoyne-Owen College.

The event also highlights the importance of community partnerships. Educational institutions cannot operate in isolation. Their ability to educate, develop leaders, and provide opportunities for students is strengthened when businesses, community organizations, elected leaders, alumni, and residents work together.

That spirit of collaboration is at the heart of the annual tournament.

As Memphis continues to focus on economic development, workforce preparation, entrepreneurship, and opportunities for young people, supporting higher education remains an important investment. Colleges such as LeMoyne-Owen College help prepare students to enter the workforce, become entrepreneurs, pursue advanced education, and serve their communities.

The 6th Annual Mickell Lowery Golf Tournament provides a tangible way for supporters to contribute to that mission while enjoying a day of competition and fellowship.

With the tournament scheduled for Saturday, October 3, 2026, supporters are encouraged to register early, make plans to attend, and invite colleagues, friends, business partners, and members of their organizations to participate.

Golf check-in begins at 8:00 a.m., followed by the 9:00 a.m. shotgun start at Quail Ridge Golf Course. Participants can register to play, donate, or explore sponsorship opportunities.

The message behind the event is simple: come together, enjoy the game, build relationships, and invest in education.

For those looking for a meaningful way to support LeMoyne-Owen College while connecting with members of the Memphis community, the 6th Annual Golf Tournament offers that opportunity.

Mark your calendars for October 3, 2026, and join Mayor-Elect Mickell Lowery at Quail Ridge Golf Course for a day of golf, fellowship, and community support.
