In a time when mental health challenges are increasingly being discussed, Voices of Wellness: A Mental Health Anthology emerges as a vital contribution to the conversation.

A recent study by psychiatry.org reveals that one in five women in the United States experiences a mental health issue each year, such as depression, PTSD, or an eating disorder. This anthology, published by The Author’s Journey, features nine courageous women who share their personal journeys of mental health struggles, resilience, and healing. By offering raw and honest perspectives, these narratives aim to foster a more inclusive and compassionate understanding of mental health, particularly for women who face unique challenges in this realm.

Here is a brief introduction to each author:

Candice Hayes is a resilient and inspiring entrepreneur, mental health advocate, and NFL wife of a retired player who turned her personal struggles into a powerful platform for change. Married for 27 years, Candice and her husband have three adult children, one son-in-law, and three grandchildren.

A US Naval veteran, Dr. Cheryl Cooper holds a doctorate in computer science. She is a cyber security thought leader and keynote speaker. She is also the founder and president of a Women in Security (WiCyS) affiliate. Dr. Cooper has added authorship to her resume. In February 2023, she released her memoir, Hood to Hooded: A Black Woman’s Choice to Rise.
