USBC 360° Closes Its First Cohort With A Founder Showcase

U.S. Black Chambers, Inc. (USBC) is marking the end of the first USBC 360° cohort with an evening built around the founders who went through it. The USBC 360° Founder Showcase and Pitch Competition brings all 25 participating Black-owned consumer packaged goods businesses together at the USBC Innovation Campus for a networking reception, a showcase of their products and a live pitch competition.

The night closes with the announcement of pitch competition winners, special recognition for participants and an awards presentation. For the founders, it is both a graduation and a public debut, a chance to put their brands in front of an audience after three months of behind-the-scenes work.

Twelve Weeks Built Around What Retail Readiness Requires

Consumer packaged goods is a demanding category for any small business. Food, beauty, personal care and household brands have to manage production costs, packaging, pricing, distribution and buyer relationships long before a product earns a permanent spot on a shelf. Many promising brands stall not because customers don’t want the product, but because the business behind it isn’t ready to grow.

USBC 360° was designed around that gap. Launched in August 2026, the 12-week accelerator gave its 25 emerging founders mentorship, retail expertise and resources aimed at scaling sustainably. Training focused on four areas: financial readiness, brand and market performance, channel strategy and sales execution.

Each area addresses a common breaking point for growing brands. Financial readiness determines whether a company can fund larger orders. Brand and market performance shapes whether a product stands out. Channel strategy decides where a product should be sold, and sales execution determines whether it actually moves once it gets there.

Five Founders Pitch For Awards Of Up To $50,000

The pitch competition puts five businesses from the cohort in front of a panel of guest judges made up of accomplished CPG founders and industry experts. Judging from people who have built consumer brands themselves gives the finalists feedback grounded in the realities of the category.

The money on the line is tied directly to the work the founders did during the program. Select participants will be eligible for Entrepreneur Awards of up to $50,000 to support implementation of their business growth roadmaps. The awards are meant to help founders put the strategies developed during the accelerator into practice as they strengthen operations and pursue long-term growth.

The finalists and winners have not yet been announced. USBC will name the pitch competition winners at the close of the October 29 event.

Why Scaling Support Matters For Black-Owned Brands

Black entrepreneurship has grown steadily in recent years, with Black-owned employer businesses topping 200,000 for the first time. Starting a business and scaling one are different challenges, though. Moving from a small operation to a brand with consistent retail distribution requires capital, relationships and operational know-how that many founders have to build on their own.

Accelerators like USBC 360° try to shorten that learning curve. By pairing founders with mentors and structured training, the program aims to help Black-owned brands avoid costly mistakes and prepare for growth before opportunities arrive rather than after.

The National Network Behind The Program

U.S. Black Chambers, Inc. describes itself as the national voice of Black business, representing more than 176 Black Chambers and 336,000 Black-owned businesses across the country. The organization focuses on economic empowerment and sustainability in African American communities through advocacy, education and strategic programming.

Ron Busby Sr., President and CEO of USBC, said the program is about giving Black entrepreneurs access to “the strategy, relationships and resources needed to build businesses positioned for sustainable growth.” He added that the celebration recognizes what the founders accomplished over 12 weeks while helping them put their growth plans into action.

USBC runs the program in partnership with Target, which works with the organization to provide founders with mentorship and retail expertise.
