Memphis is getting ready to trade ordinary Halloween celebrations for red carpets, masquerade masks, celebrity appearances, live music and high fashion when Michael Dockery, CEO of Telecast Media Group, and JT Entertainment present “A Night of Elegance Masquerade Ball.”

On Saturday, October 31, Reign Event Center will become the backdrop for an evening designed to feel less like a traditional party and more like a celebrity entertainment experience. Located at 3243 Players Club Circle in Memphis, the venue will open its doors at 7 p.m. for a night organizers are building around one clear expectation: Dress to Impress.

The excitement surrounding A Night of Elegance begins with its concept.

Imagine walking into an atmosphere filled with sophisticated fashion, elegant masks, music and guests wondering who might enter the room next. Add recognizable entertainment personalities, a live performance and a mystery celebrity guest, and October 31 suddenly becomes one of those nights where simply being in the building is part of the experience.

That is the energy Michael Dockery and JT Entertainment are looking to create.

As CEO of Telecast Media Group, Dockery continues to develop entertainment concepts designed to bring people together while showcasing Memphis as a city capable of producing exciting, upscale experiences. With A Night of Elegance, the emphasis is on creating an event where entertainment, presentation and atmosphere all share the spotlight.

This isn’t just about coming to watch a performance.

The audience becomes part of the show.

Men are encouraged to step out in their sharpest suits, tuxedos and evening attire. Women can bring glamour to the room through sophisticated dresses and statement fashion. And, of course, the masquerade masks provide the mystery that can transform a familiar face into someone guests may spend half the evening trying to recognize.

Then there are the celebrity guests.

Crystal Stewart is scheduled to make a special appearance, bringing her background in pageantry, television and entertainment to the Memphis celebration. Stewart’s presence adds another layer of glamour to an evening already designed around fashion and sophistication.

Actor and singer Terrell Carter will also appear as a special guest, adding another recognizable entertainment personality to the night’s lineup.

Musically, Gerald Richardson is scheduled to deliver a live performance, giving guests an opportunity to experience live entertainment within the masquerade atmosphere.

But perhaps the most intriguing name on the guest list is the one organizers aren’t revealing.

The event is advertising a surprise celebrity guest.

No name. No advance introduction. Just a mask and a promise that another special personality will be part of the evening.

That mystery could become one of the event’s biggest attractions.

Who is behind the mask?

Guests may have to wait until October 31 to find out.

That element of surprise gives A Night of Elegance something different from a conventional concert or party. Instead of announcing everything in advance, Dockery and JT Entertainment are leaving something for the audience to discover in real time.

And that fits perfectly with the spirit of a masquerade ball.

The October 31 date also gives the event an opportunity to reinvent the traditional Halloween night for an adult audience. Instead of ghosts, haunted houses and conventional costumes, the emphasis will be on elegance, mystery, fashion, music and celebrity entertainment.

For Memphis professionals, entrepreneurs, creatives and entertainment enthusiasts, the evening can also serve as a social and networking environment.

One table could include a business owner. Across the room could be an entertainer. Nearby might be a media personality, community leader, entrepreneur or creative professional. Those spontaneous connections are often what make major social events memorable long after the music stops.

That possibility is part of the appeal.

Memphis has always understood how to entertain.

The city that gave the world legendary music continues to produce new artists, entrepreneurs, promoters and entertainment executives who are creating the next generation of Memphis experiences.

Dockery is working to be part of that continuing story.

Through Telecast Media Group, his vision extends beyond simply putting people inside a venue. The larger opportunity is to create entertainment experiences capable of attracting attention, generating excitement and giving Memphis audiences something they will talk about afterward.

A Night of Elegance is designed with exactly that kind of energy.

There will be music.

There will be fashion.

There will be celebrities.

There will be masks.

And there will be at least one major surprise.

When the doors open at 7 p.m. at Reign Event Center, guests won’t simply be arriving at another October 31 party. They’ll be stepping into an evening built around the anticipation that anything could happen once the masks go on.

For Michael Dockery, Telecast Media Group and JT Entertainment, that sense of anticipation is precisely the point.

Memphis knows how to party.

On October 31, the challenge is different:

Can Memphis do elegance, mystery and celebrity excitement all in one night?

A Night of Elegance Masquerade Ball intends to provide the answer.
